Ian O'Reilly

Principle Chartered Physiotherapist & Practice Owner

Ian co-founded Cavan Physiotherapy Clinic in 2005. He holds a degree in Sports Rehabilitation from St. Mary's University in London and qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist from the University of Ulster, establishing a strong foundation in both injury prevention and physical rehabilitation. With over two decades of clinical experience, Ian treats all types of musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions, from everyday back and neck pain to complex chronic issues. His approach combines hands-on manual therapy with tailored exercise programmes designed to help patients regain full mobility and safely return to their daily activities. Having previously played Gaelic football at a competitive level, Ian brings a practical, firsthand understanding of injury recovery to his patients. In addition to his core musculoskeletal practice, Ian provides specialised vestibular physiotherapy, helping patients manage and overcome debilitating dizziness, vertigo, and balance disorders. He also uses his extensive clinical expertise to conduct professional medico-legal assessments and documentation for legal and insurance purposes.

 

 

 

Alice O'Reilly

MISCP, MSCP, MSOM, Adv. Dip.in Obs & Gyn (TCD)

Chartered Physiotherapist & Practice Partner

Alice qualified in 1970 having trained at Dublin School of Physiotherapy, Trinity College in Dublin. She went on to work in several hospitals before establishing her first practice in Cootehill in 1985 and subsequently joining forces with her son Ian as a partner at Cavan Physiotherapy Clinic. As a truly enthusiastic and self-motivated individual, she aims to achieve the highest standards of evidence-based practice in the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of every patient. Her goals when treating her patients are to empower them to self-manage, adopt life style changes that will impact positively on treatment outcome and to encourage them to return to the activities they enjoy or need to do. Areas of special interest and expertise within musculoskeletal physiotherapy are in the treatment of spinal pain, pre and post-natal pelvic pain and sport related injuries.

 

 

 

Ciara Harkin

MISCP, B.Sc. Physio

Senior Chartered Physiotherapist

Ciara graduated from Teesside University with a BSc in Physiotherapy in 2017 and is a Chartered Physiotherapist registered with CORU and the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (MISCP). She began her career in the UK within the NHS, gaining valuable experience in both musculoskeletal (MSK) and respiratory care, before moving into private MSK clinics in 2019.
With years of experience across both hospital and private settings, Ciara manages a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. She has a strong background in sports injury rehabilitation, working directly with local GAA teams to handle pitch-side care, injury prevention, and safe return-to-play planning.
To offer her patients a well-rounded recovery plan, Ciara is also trained and experienced in dry needling, orthotics prescription, and clinical Pilates instruction. She has a strong interest in acute & sporting injuries and further developing her knowledge in Paediatrics.

 

 

 


Karen Vincent

Practice Manager

Karen manages the daily running of Cavan Physiotherapy Clinic, with a main focus on looking after our patients and ensuring a high standard of customer care. Since joining the team in 2016, she has applied her background in business to handle the clinic's administration, including HR, marketing, compliance, and financial management. Her day-to-day work keeps the practice organised so that every patient receives a welcoming and supportive service.
